The Missouri Compromise
The Missouri Compromise was an event that gave benefits to both the Northern and Southern areas of the United States, including the fortification of the 36 30 border, which divided the North and South.
Every future state above the line would be completely slave-free, and every future state below the line would have slavery.
According to Thomas Jefferson, this would be the main event that split the Union and started the War.
In the Compromise, Maine was added to the North as a slave-free state, and Missouri was added to the South as a slave state.
